Join us this All Hallows’ Eve for an atmospheric tour of our ancient house. The 17th Century were very suspicious times. Witchcraft and other worldly spirits were feared by the masses. King James I even wrote a book on ‘Daemonologie’ outlining the ways in which sorcery and demons could corrupt.
As such, certain measures and practices were undertook to protect against such evils. Evidence of this is found throughout our house from markings on the walls & ceilings to burnings in wood and Graffiti in windows.
Our wonderful volunteers will guide you on a tour through the house and you’ll learn about beliefs & superstitions of old and witness a collection of varying marks made to protect the house from evil spirits.
