Gunpowder Plot Day
Sunday 6th November, 11:00 am - 3:30 pm.
The day runs a repeat programme from around 11 am- 1pm & then 1.30pm – 3.30pm.
Join us in this entertaining re telling of the story behind the Gunpowder Plot. Discover how the family that lived in the 1620s House were connected to it. SPOILER! Their uncle, Everard Digby, was hung, drawn and quartered for his part in it!
See the story of the Plot unfold through a series of short scenarios through our house and grounds.
Learn about the properties of gunpowder with the Open Rope Living History Group and watch a 17th century cannon being fired. BEWARE the bangs are loud. Ear Defenders are available for those with aural sensitivities.
Our younger visitors can get stuck into some themed craft activities, a fun trail & help us to catch the dastardly Guy Fawkes.
Do not need to pre- book, just pay on arrival. Normal site admission applies, plus £2 per person.
*Please note, if you already have a season pass you will only have to pay the £2 per person. Please present your season tickets at the admission hut.
