Free family garden trails
The Friends of the 1620s House and Gardens produce wonderful garden trails each year. This year is themed to the pond and is looking for frogs carrying clues!

Family holiday house and garden trails.
Our events team puts on a seasonal family trail throughout the holidays. These are charged for and have small prizes. See the What’s On page for details.

Dressing up in the House
We now have clothes rail with a range of 17th century style costumes for visitors to try on. Each hanger has a photo of the outfit and a description of who would have worn it.

Volunteers and handling objects
Our volunteers in the furnished rooms give a warm welcome to families and encourage visitors to get the most out of the objects, which they can touch.

Home schooling
The 1620s House and Garden is an amazing site for home schooling across a wide range of subjects. Home schools groups can also book to come for self led or Museum educator led sessions.
