PLAY IN A DAY…!!!

 

Calling all aspiring actors!

 

Help Chorus Theatre create a new restoration comedy in just one day!

 

Yes, that’s right you’ll start the creation of this new production at 9.30am and be ready to perform it to an audience at 6.30pm. It’s crazy but it might just work! (We’ve done this before so we know it will…!)

 

What is restoration comedy, I hear you ask? A madcap, silly comedy show about love, romance and scandal…! Think of a cross between Pride and Prejudice and the Carry On films! Our play will be inspired by the house and will be called The Three Wives of Donington…!

 

It promises to be a fun, scary, enjoyable, and exciting experience!

 

If you want to join us as a cast member then click here. Places cost £25 and are extremely limited. Previous experience is not required but enthusiasm and a willingness to try something new definitely is!

 

Food is not included but the Barn café will be open during the day for you to purchase drinks and other light refreshments.

If you would prefer to join us as an audience member then the show is free of charge (although we might do a collection so bring some spare cash!). You can book tickets for this here.

Start time is 6.30pm but the café will be open prior to this from 6.00pm. The performance is planned to take place outdoors at the House and maybe outside in the Gardens (weather dependent), so please bring suitable clothing (and a fold-up chair if you have one!). If it’s raining then we’ll retreat inside for the show!

 

The running time of the performance will be approximately 30 minutes followed by a short (15 minutes)post-show chat with the cast and director after the show.
